まめ太郎率いる「しんせんぐみ」が、身も心も腐りきった、くさり丸から冷蔵庫の中の江戸の民(=食品)を守るという設定。
発行がポプラ社に代わり、当初の食育に対する意識は薄れたものの、造本や小ネタやらも含め、本格的な絵本に仕上がっています。「漫画兄弟」以外、どこにも兎丸さんやHAKUEIさんやのりさんのクレジットはないように、非常に真剣に作られており、兎丸さんの絵もお遊びゼロで徹しています。
ただし、テーマ曲を収録するCDの4曲目に唯一「HAKUEI」の名が見えます。このおまけの「哀愁のなっとうざむらい」は、いきなり大人の時間にして、傑作!! スタッフと一緒に大笑いしましょう。

【En】Reizoko no naka no Natto Zamurai is now on sale.
In this book, Shinsengumi lead by Mametaroh protects people (= foods) in the Edo in fridge from Kusari-maru who has spoiled body and soul.
Publisher was changed to POPLAR, the professional company of children’s book, and the book became typical one for young children. It changed the cover and format of the book and included many ideas. On the other hand, the portion of dietary education was decreased in spite of the main theme in the previous book it was. As we cannot see any name of Usamaru, HAKUEI, and Nori except Manga Brothers in the book, they are creating this book with serious attitude. Usamaru-san hides his usual style and devotes himself into the Mametaro’s world.
But there is one exception. We can see the name of “HAKUEI” at the track 4 of bundled CD that includes theme song of Natto Zamurai. This Hakuei’s performance is fantastic and amazing. Let’s laugh with sound engineers!!
